Short Description
The Netzwerk Solidarische Landwirtschaft (solidarity-based farming network/ CSA network) supports the growth of solidarity-based farming in Germany by providing a platform for information and skills sharing connected to solidarity-based farming. The network also tries to raise awareness for solidarity-based farming in the public and promots a corresponding change in paradigm in agriculture.

Description

The Netzwerk Solidarische Landwirtschaft is made up of committed individuals and active Solawi (solidarische Landwirtschaft, solidarity-based farming, CSA) farms. It was formed in 2011 to support the growth of solidarity-based farming in Germany. It provides a platform for sharing information and skills connected with solidarity-based farming. This platform is available to all those involved in building up Solawi farms and/or in spreading the idea through public events, media campaigns or research activity.

Aims of the network are: To raise awareness of solidarity-based farming and to promote a corresponding change in paradigm. To encourage and promote new solidarity-based farming groups. To offer service and advice to existing Solawi groups and to support newly established groups. To connect Solawi groups, committed and interested individuals with each other, to make an exchange of knowledge, experience, ideas and good energies possible.

To empower a social and small-scale sustainable farming that maintains our ecosystems and our cultural landscape, we are in contact with other national and international organizations. We are a member of the internatinal CSA network urgenci and we want to strenghten and widen the already existing contacts to CSA organisations, farms and individuals in Europe. The German CSA network is part of a european and worldwide movement and we want to continue its cultivation. To see and feel that we are a part of a bigger movement that overcomes countries borders gives an encouraging power to our own natinal network.

We want to share knowledge and experiences and want to learn about similar alternative foodsystems in other countries, about their challenges and visions.
